and his colleagues who are trying to take care of business elsewhere. >>reporter: captain was on his fourth tour in afghanistan when he was killed. he was shot by an afghan police officer very one he was there to train. he is one of at least 6 service members killed today. the death is not the only reminder that tens of thousands of american troops still very much in harm way in afghanistan. earlier this week a gun man in afghan uniform killed 3 u.s. troops. more tonight from martha. >> the attacks have been unrelenting. from the recent strike. watch that massive truck bomb drive to the entrance of a remote u.s. bas base. injuring more than 100 to today murder hit that left 3 special operation forces dead. americans have likely been trying to help train l the very man wearing afghan security

movie. guy rappel down and steals fancy car ends up in jail then his friends try to break him out. but there's a serious note all of this. suspect is wanted for attempted murder. today attempted jail break happened at the marin county juvenile hall in san rafael. 7 news reporter has the story. >>reporter: attempted break in occurred at 4:30 this morning. suspect tried to penetrate this wall and shatter 2 windows. they failed then fled leaving behind a sledge hammer and some bolt cutters. on the other side of that wall was the cell, facility personnel acted quickly. >> they were hearing bumping sounds from outside. they believed that somebody was trying to hit concrete wall and make swrishtion investigators believe 2 or more people were involved. wade was the only high security prisoner inside the juvenile hall facility and was the only person in that area. still the sheriff's department says there is no evidence that wade was involved

in the attempted break in. >> however he was aware certainly he was turning 18 today and l it's really no secret that you can't keep adults in that facility. so i think you know probably several people could have, could have surmised there was a transfer that was going to occur. >>reporter: he was transferred to the marin county jail this morning under heightened security. 18-year-old is accused of stealing celebrity chef lamborgini. also charged in the a mill valley drive by shooting. >> he's currently facing 2 charges of attempted murder. both charges carry maximum term of imprisonment for 35 years to life. >>reporter: there are a number of surveil absence camera outside. authorities are now looking at that video. they are also reviewing recorded conversations wade may have had with some of his visitors. one think the suspect apparently did in the know is that detention facilities like this one are built with thick wall and window making them hard to
